Not really sure how it happened but this is our second book in a row about young mothers in London (we just finished reading Ordinary People). It will be interesting to compare the two when we're done, since they seem so similar at first glance. We're always interested in books about relationships, and how convincingly (or not) the author can draw us into the motivations of her characters - both this book and Ordinary People explore the complexities and expectations of friendships and partnerships.
